California transition celebrations honor program graduates

Graduates of several day reporting centers in California run by GEO Reentry Services are being honored in spring transition celebrations that mark their successful completion of GEO Reentry’s intensive reentry programming.

Upcoming celebrations will be hosted for graduates of the Mendocino County Day Reporting Center, Merced County Day Reporting Center, Stockton Day Reporting Center and Napa Community Corrections Service Center. Graduates will be honored by local criminal justice officials and GEO Reentry staff in a ceremony they are invited to attend with their families, who can witness their hard work and dedication.

The centers provide intensive treatment and training, including evidence-based cognitive behavioral therapy designed to change criminal behavior, and provide life skills courses that prepare participants for reentry into their communities. The programs emphasize finding employment, and help participants navigate such skills as resume-writing and job interviews. Other life skills courses include anger management, parenting classes and GED prep.

The programs are designed to reduce recidivism while offering cost-effective alternatives to detention and maintaining public safety.

The transition celebrations will be held on:

  • Mendocino County Day Reporting Center: April 28
  • Merced County Day Reporting Center: April 30
  • Stockton Day Reporting Center: April 30
  • Napa Community Corrections Service Center: May 28
