GEO Reentry Releases Cambria County Outcomes Report

GEO Reentry Services has released a new outcomes report from Cambria County, Penn., for the county’s Reentry Service Center. The research team measures outcomes reports to assess a variety of program factors, ranging from population served and demographic details, accountability activities, and the impact services being provided are affecting criminal behavior. The data for this report was collected from calendar year 2024.

Under the guidance of the Cambria County Probation Department, the Cambria County RSC opened in 2012, and GEO Reentry has operated it since it opened. The RSC provides a structured combination of cognitive behavioral treatment, training, case management and community connections to help individuals on probation to break the cycle of recidivism. The center also helps participants focus on independent life in the community with employment skills and connections to local educational opportunities.

The report highlights that 191 individuals on probation received services during the year, with the center averaging 76 participants per day. Ninety-nine individuals graduated successfully during the year.  The center achieved a 96% check-in rate for scheduled appointments, a 29% reduction in criminal risk scores for a sample group of participants when assessing pre- and post-program data, and a significant reduction in criminal thinking patterns as measured by Texas Christian University’s CTS Scales.
