
GEO Reentry Services has released two new outcomes reports for reentry programs operating in Monterey County, California. The research team measures outcomes report to assess a variety of program factors, ranging from population served and demographic details, accountability activities, and most importantly, whether the services being provided are impacting criminal behavior.
The first report assesses participants at the Monterey Jail Reentry Program, which is overseen by the county Sheriff’s Office. The program provides transitional planning, a self-directed journaling program, in which more than 1,400 individuals participated, and more. This jail reentry report covers data from calendar year 2024.

Another report released reviews results from the Monterey County Day Reporting Center, which GEO Reentry operates for the California Department of Corrections and the Monterey County Probation Department. This report assesses data collected by researchers from July 1, 2023 through June 30, 2024, a period when 421 individuals received services at the DRC.
This report highlights major gains among participants in employment, high engagement as measured by attendance rates, and a reduction in criminal risk factors as seen in pre- and post-program assessment tools for a sample group. Both individuals on parole and probation report to the DRC.
