Graduation Ceremony Held for Cambria County Reentry Program Participants

Friday afternoon at the Cambria County Reentry Service Center wasn’t just another day—it was a celebration of second chances. Forty-two people who worked their way through months of classes, treatment, job training, and regular drug and alcohol testing got to walk across the stage and mark a major milestone: graduation from the county’s reentry program.

This ceremony wasn’t just about caps and gowns. Each graduate had put in serious work, not just in the classroom, but in rebuilding their lives and preparing for a fresh start in their community.

Cambria County Director, Christopher Maul, put it best: “We’re in the business of helping people. We want to change lives and make our communities safer and a better place. It’s great to see that, when they come back—some of them graduated several months ago, and they come back and they’re still doing great. It just makes us feel great about what we do.”

The pride in the room was unmistakable, and there was even more to celebrate. During the ceremony, Cambria County received the National Day Reporting Center of the Year award, a nod to the hard work of everyone involved, from staff to participants.

Graduation is just one step, but for these 42, it’s a sign that with support, dedication, and a little help from people who care, real change is possible.
