GEO Reentry Services and Luzerne County hosted a graduation event for individuals on probation who successfully completed the intensive reentry program at the Luzerne County Reentry Service Center. The event was held at The Luzerne County Courthouse Rotunda and guest speakers included Judge Joseph F Sklarosky, Jr., Luzerne County Court of Common Pleas, and Director of Luzerne County Probation Services Kevin Perluke.
The judge noted that the graduates took advantage of an opportunity to turn their lives around and put in the work to make it happen. “Your focus and your determination, you should be proud of yourselves,” Judge Sklarosky said. “Each of you took advantage of the opportunity that the program provides.”
Families and probation officials were on hand at the event to mark participants’ successful completion of the program. Participants will pick up their certificates of completion, and lunch was provided. GEO Reentry Services delivers innovative programming options that included a variety of technology-based options, along with in-person intensive treatment and training, and ongoing drug and alcohol testing, all to help prepare participants for successful community reentry.
Director Kevin Perluke commended the graduates on their achievement. “You now have the tools to become productive members of society,” he said. “Adversity is helpful to growth and helped to make you stronger.”

Located at 125 N. Wilkes Barre Boulevard, the Luzerne County Reentry Service Center opened in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania in 2010 to help alleviate prison overcrowding at Luzerne County Correctional Facility and reduce recidivism.
As a non-residential reentry center, the program provides evidence-based treatment, training and supervision to individuals referred by Luzerne County or the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections, including cognitive behavioral therapy and substance use treatment, empowering them to take charge of their lives and become productive members of society.
