Merced County Probation recognizes graduates of intensive supervision program

Merced, Calif.— Nov. 20, 2013—The Merced County Probation Department and BI Incorporated, operator of a day reporting program for probationers in Merced, will  recognize probationers who have completed the program at a Transition Celebration Thursday, Nov. 21 at 6 p.m. at the Branding Iron, 640 W. 16th St. The celebration marks a significant milestone in the lives of these probationers.

The Transition Celebration will feature keynote speaker Chris Castaneda, who has operated a day reporting program for the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation in Stockton. Graduates will also share their experiences and insight, and county officials will recognize the graduates. Local dignitaries, family members and community leaders have been invited to attend.

The Merced County Day Reporting Center, located at 3345 M St., is reserved for probationers who require extra supervision, specifically youthful offenders. They go through regular reporting to the center, cognitive behavioral therapy, training, and ongoing testing for drug and alcohol use.
