GEO Reentry Releases Dauphin County Outcomes Report

GEO Reentry Services has released a new outcomes report from Dauphin County, Penn., for the county’s Reentry Service Center. The research team measures outcomes reports to assess a variety of program factors, ranging from population served and demographic details, accountability activities, and the impact services being provided are affecting criminal behavior. The data for this report was collected from calendar year 2024.

The Dauphin County Probation Department and the Pennsylvania State Parole Board refer individuals on probation or parole for services at the Dauphin County RSC. At the center, GEO Reentry provides a structured combination of evidence-based cognitive behavioral treatment, life skills training, case management, workforce development, and community connections designed to change criminal thinking.

The outcomes report found the program is having a positive effect on participants. The report assessed data points for 205 participants who entered the program during the year, finding more than 6,000 breath alcohol tests administered and only a few positives, and employment gains of 15 percent for discharged participants. Importantly, when assessing a sample of program participants, there was a 28% criminal risk reduction as measured by the LSI-R, an industry tool for assessing risks and needs. Fifty individuals graduated from the center in 2024 and a participant survey measured a 91% overall satisfaction score for the program.
