GEO Reentry Services has released a new outcomes report that includes data from six intensive reentry programs overseen by the Illinois Department of Corrections. GEO Reentry has operated Reentry Services Centers for the state for more than 25 years, and this report assesses data for calendar year 2024. The research team measures outcomes reports to assess a variety of program factors, ranging from population served and demographic details, accountability activities, and the impact services being provided are affecting criminal behavior.
The report assesses data for more than 2,500 individuals on parole who were served at reporting centers in Chatham, West Fulton, East St. Louis, Chicago Heights, Decatur and Rockford. These centers provide cognitive behavioral treatment, counseling, employment readiness, Life Skills, connections to community resources and more.
The report found 827 participants graduated in 2024, employment gains exceeded 100% from the time individuals began and completed the program, and very high satisfaction scores from participant surveys, despite the fact that the program is rigorous in holding them accountable. In addition, criminal risk scores dropped 8% and criminal thinking patterns were lowered by 9%, using two respected industry assessment tools.
