GEO Reentry Releases Outcomes Report from Louisville, Kentucky

GEO Reentry Services has released a new outcomes report for a reentry program it operates for the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections. The research team measures outcomes reports to assess a variety of program factors, ranging from population served and demographic details, accountability activities, and most importantly, whether the services being provided are impacting criminal behavior.

The report assesses participants at the Louisville Metro Day Reporting Center. The program provides cognitive behavioral treatment, counseling, employment readiness, Life Skills, connections to community resources and more. This reentry report covers data from calendar year 2024.

The report found a 20% reduction in criminal risk for a sample group of participants from the time they entered the program and exited it. The report also found significant gains in employment, an important program emphasis, among participants. As requested by the DOC, researchers also found by diverting individuals to the DRC, more than $1.2 million was avoided in jail costs.
