GEO Reentry Releases Luzerne County Outcomes Report

GEO Reentry Services has released a new outcomes report from Luzerne County, Penn., for the county’s Reentry Service Center, a program overseen by the Luzerne County Probation Department. GEO Reentry has operated this RSC since 2010, and this report assesses data for calendar year 2024. The research team measures outcomes reports to assess a variety of program factors, ranging from population served and demographic details, accountability activities, and the impact services being provided are affecting criminal behavior.

This program provides cognitive behavioral treatment, counseling, employment readiness, Life Skills, connections to community resources and more. The report highlights that 221 individuals on probation received services during the year, with the center averaging 45 participants per day. Fifty-one individuals graduated successfully during the year. In addition, engagement rates were high as indicated by at 93% attendance check-ins for groups and appointments, and importantly, the criminal risk score for a sample group of participants found a significant reduction of 39%.
